And that school is the old school.
I’ve been speaking to a lot the younger gen lately on and off and as much as they can be painfully infuriating with their tiktok addiction and brain rot…
There seems to be a sub section of them that are looking to go back to the old school way of doing things.
They’re getting dumb phones, they’re getting all the old school writing gear and notepads/books and they’re looking at slowing things down.
The enshittification era has started to push people away from the social media platforms and back into touching grass, and as much as I’d like to say “I told you so” – Well…
I told you so…
And while everyone and their dogs are AI founders and all of that other bullshit, the generation they are hoping to target, are sticking their middle fingers up and slowly bouncing off of the platforms.
So where does this leave us creatives?
Vinyls, casettes, hand written, pen on paper, printed and anything that is made by slowing the process down will become far more valuable.
Am I saying that everyone’s going to leave these platforms? Na. But there’s a massive shit happening in the younger generation and us oldies have been seeing it for a long time.
Where the attention goes is usually where a lot of the money flows and so with all this being said. This should give you an idea of where to take your work going forward.
I know what I’m going to do.
