You need rules.
Big ol’ filthy rules.
The kind you set for yourself. The kind you stand by, even if it makes people uncomfortable.
(Please don’t do anything semi-naked outside of someone’s window. It’s generally frowned upon in society in 2025…)
When I share something. I want them to feel something.
Love, hate, rage, delight.
Lukewarm is death would be something along the lines my pal Ben would say.
There’s way too much of that cookie cutter please everyone bullshit on social media.
I couldn’t think of anything worse than trying to make everyone like me.
Stir the pot. Test people’s mental fortitude.
Send them to my email list and let’s get working on them.
There’s a lot of this same-think going on lately and even if you say one thing out of place. Holy fuck do they get mad. Look at tariffs at the moment. Absolute shit show.
Hell, here in England if you say some wild shit online the coppers will probably turn up at your door. Knock a couple of times at around 2am and ask very nicely that you delete those posts you made.
1984 anyone? The ministry of truth don’t seem to dig on that.
Anywho.
In the online space people are always yapping on about a WHY.
So get one of those. And it’s gotta be loud enough, bold enough, sharp enough to cut through whatever flavour of the week is being pushed to derail you from your plans.
The people who are meant to follow you? They’ll grab their cups, chug your Kool-Aid, and beg for seconds.
The rest? They’ll sneer, scoff, and walk away and that’s fine. You don’t want them anyway.
You’re not here for other people’s expectations.
You’re here to slap your sauce (I was gonna say meat but that’s not right) the good, spicy, brain burning kind onto the willing skulls of the people who get it. Who get you.
So stop aiming for safe. Safe never changed the world. Start aiming for impact. For passion. For the kind of work that makes people feel something, even if it pisses them off.
The ones who dig what you stand for? They’ll stick with you. They’ll grow with you. And they’ll carry your mission forward and if the plan is to take over the world. They’ll have your back too.
Well my brain did that whole tangent thing again but here’s the TL;DR.
You need to piss people off because you stand for something. We’re not doing it maliciously.
Get a WHY (Why are you doing what you’re doing?) Do you have things, stuff or services that can change the world and can get you to where you want to be? Do, make and share more of that.
Challenge and share everything. It’ll inspire others to drink your kool-aid.
Forward them this email so they can click on this super long link so I can indoctrinate them into my world.
Rinse and repeat these steps.
Retire and drink wine under the stars.
