587 backers and the cult like card game I wrote about a few months ago has hit its funding level.
That is absolutely bonkers…
What makes it even more insane is that the community is tiny in comparison to a lot of these massive kickstarter projects.
Hell, there’s even been AAA studio level game developers that struggle to hit funding within the 29 day window.
But what makes this whole process memorable (while showing you that anyone can do this…) is what they did to grow this rabid fanbase. I mean the ads that they run were nothing magical on FB and the budget was next to nothing in comparison.
What set them apart was how they handled the snarky, troll-y comments on the ads (with humour) while building the micro community on facebook.
It was from what I observed just humour and humanity.
They creators were pretty chilled. They were insightful and didn’t take anything too seriously. They had a few people lose patience because hey…
I guess paying $1 to reserve it while they’ve been tirelessly working on it, while getting feedback from the community means you deserve 24/7 VIP ACCESS.
One thing I did notice though is that Karél doesn’t send nearly as many emails as should.
I can’t blame him though. He’s been working his magic behind the scenes.
And funnily… they hit their needed pledge within 7 minutes of launching. So all of this extra sauce they’ve got can go into production and growth and all of the things…
Anywho…
This is just my fanboy shoutout those lads and ladettes. I can’t wait for my super-mega-ultra pack to arrive and who knows. If you grab it yourself and you start to get some wild daily emails from them too…
You never know. Yours truly may be the mastermind behind it all. wink
