Quick confession…
I’m about to disappear into Battlefield 6. Like, gone gone. Pulled under by the riptide gone. The kind of gone where the couch grows teeth and the controller fuses to my palms and the night blinks and suddenly it’s 3:11 in the morning and the parrot is judging me for war crimes I committed against drywall…
Why? You already know. But I’ll say it, because this is the part of the email where I pitch and plead and pretend I’m not already reinstalling voice chat for the lads.
I’m a battlefield nerd from way back. The school of Q-spot and “who’s driving this thing, oh god it’s me.”
Destructive environments are my love language.
The campaign? I live for those morally messy stories where good soldiers do bad things for maybe good reasons while the world spins like a coin on the edge.
If they bring a proper campaign back, I’m there, bleeding empathy and shell casings. If not, I’ll still dig in.
You, of course, will tell me to breathe. Hydrate. Touch grass. I will nod and ignore.
But I’ll come back and send the ‘ol daily emails.
My thumbs will calcify into joysticks, which is cool.
I can still type I guess.
There’s still a few months to go before the game goes live. It’ll be my winter treat, cause I don’t really like going out all that much when it’s raining 24/7.
Plus having a little break is good for the brain meats.
So while I’ll be making people smash their controllers or keyboards. I’ll still turn up here daily with whatever decides to pour out of my brain.
That being said. What’s your favourite vidya game if you got one?
Stephen Walker.
