Procrastination is a helluva drug.
Who wants to do things. Especially the important things when they can just binge watch their favourite show on Netflix, play a video game or get lost in many of the books or endless album recommendations on Spotify?
I don’t. The fun stuff is always the best stuff. Important stuff…
Well. We put it off for as long as possible to the point where when we do eventually get to it. We punch ourselves in the mouth because it was so easy to do.
That’s where Brian Tracey’s book Eat that frog comes into play.
The overall premise is that when you start your day. You just need to do the most important thing first where possible.
For me the most important thing is writing the email that goes out to you.
Everything else is just secondary.
As much as my ass will be glued to multiple seats today as I travelled around Scotland. (While being stalked by government spy drones aka pigeons…)
I got the words done.
It feels like I’m heading to Hogwarts. Trees passing by. People looking out of the window.
Wondering if Harry and Ron will pass over head in their beat up magical flying car.
That’s what dreams are for eh?
As I’m writing this I’m crossing over a bridge on my way to Inverkeithing.
There’s dilapidated micro island which looks abandoned. It looks like the perfect little place to set up shop and be my crochety ol’ self. Write my books and stories while angrily raising my fist at the train when it passes at 23:01pm every night…
Anyways.
Do the important/hard things first. It’ll make your day 100x easier.
Which also leaves you open to more fun and shenanigans when you’re done.
