It’s a real testament…

If you ever read or hear those words uttered to you.

You know full well that the person sharing them has been infected by the LLM bullshit infected our society.

It’s weird cause I’ve been reading a lot of autobiographies from some of my favourite writers.

More recently…

Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis, who if you don’t know. Rose to super stardom after he wrote Less than Zero and is now more know for American Psycho than anything else…

Bret has such a unique and visceral style and truthfully. If I could write as gritty a tale as him. I would be doing it 24/7.

It brings me back to the point though.

As people get sucked into LLM land and AI digs its fingers deeper into people’s brains.

The less real everything seems.

You recognise the patterns of laziness.

You see it all around you when people post things that ride along the lines of…

“It’s not X it’s Y”

What’s happening to our own humanity of expression. What happened to us sitting down and penning our thoughts, even if they’re not perfect or riddled with typos…

The ironic thing is. It’s not shifting in the marketing game yet again. It’s not even been 12 months since some of the top folks in my industry have been gargling on the digital phallus of big tech.

Only to now making the once again famous (2020 lockdown) pivot back to human aka authentic content creation and writing.

I called this shit so many times and people called me ignorant or jealous (lol) for not embracing AI and all of it’s pitfalls.

Personally though. I’d rather read a poorly drafted post, text or email that shows the person is an actual human than some half baked pattern recognition prototype of something that doesn’t exist.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s like everyone just wants to outsource their own humanity…

And the only cost is something money can’t buy back.

Oh well…

I’m off to enjoy a non-ai influenced beverage with a good book.

Stephen Walker.
