Oops wrong email

Just kidding.

But this type of tactic for lack of a better word seems to be popping up everywhere lately. I mean a lot more than usual.

Wrong email, wrong link, wrong date…

But there’s something that’s even more disgusting.

The ones who say they’re hosting a workshop or whatever. You NEED to attend it live because apparently there won’t be any replays…

But what happens the following day?

“I know I said I wasn’t offering a replay but a lot of people couldn’t get on and this was too valuable to miss…”

Or something a long those lines of BS.

Then followed by giving their audience the replay.

(Yes even in 2025 technology can be a pain in the ass but cmon…)

At least stick with what you say and if something like that does happen…

Arrange another date for another session to attend live.

If you’re a solo creator/artist/marketer and you do this type of thing. You might as well set your credibility and buy in from your fans on fire.

If let’s say you’re selling some prints online and they’re going to be a limited run of 10, but for some reason on your site there was a glitch where it capped out at 15 (YES SHOPIFY I SEE YOU)

You might be annoyed that you’ve got 5 buyers won’t get what they originally bought.

Except if you hit them up privately, and be honest with them right out of the gate. You’ll not be destroying your reputation and on top of that. Those 5 people might even become super fans.

This can be applied to any type of selling and creative market out there and it pains me to say this but being GENUINE and AUTHENTIC in your approach is what matters.

Yeah we’re gonna fuck things up and systems are gonna go tits up but you can handle it differently.

I get that there’s a little psychological trick which works but you really don’t need to be like the dicks who are abusing this.

Anyways. I’ll get off of my ethical soap box for now.

Lets close out the last 5 months of the year with genuine/authentic practices that’ll make our fans/clients/customers dig us even more.

Stephen Walker.
