The business of being you.

It’s exhausting pretending to be someone else.

You scroll through your feeds and see these polished, curated versions of human beings.

You get sucked into the whole “Maybe I should be more like them.” mindset.

This is where you should yell STOP.

The things that you’re doing when the lights aren’t on you is what you should focus more on. Like when you’re eating cereal for dinner because adulting is hard. Or when you’re googling “how to fold fitted sheets” for the hundredth time.

That’s the business you should be in.

And my boy Ben Settle talks about this in his villains books

Then you couple that up with the Japanese art of “getting incrementally less shitty at life, one microscopic improvement at a time.” concept called Kaizen.

One percent better every day.

That’s it. That’s the secret sauce.

Those are literally two things to do to rocket past all of the influencer bullshit you see daily.

Stop apologising for things you like.

Start saying no to things that drain your soul.

Stop caring about likes, retweets, opens etc.

And before you know it. You’ve changed and become a better version of yourself while the people who’ve been shit talking have stayed the same.

Do that for a year.

Then try to convince me you’re not unstoppable.

Stephen Walker.
